01 Overview

Delray Beach is two towns in one move. There’s the Atlantic Avenue side — beach condos, walkable downtown blocks, and historic bungalows in Del-Ida and the Marina district that were built long before anyone planned for a moving truck. Then there’s the western side, where Kings Point and the 55-plus communities run on gatehouses and move-in windows. Sawgrass Moving and Relocation handles every version of Delray with our own trucks and our own bilingual crew. We’re a licensed Florida (FDACS) and USDOT/MC company, and we quote one flat number whichever Delray you’re moving in.

Planning a move in this corner of Palm Beach County? Sawgrass Moving works these gated communities, oceanfront towers, and 55-plus villages just about every week.

Historic downtown and beach condos

The bungalows near Atlantic Avenue have narrow doorways, original wood or terrazzo floors, and not much of a driveway. We bring smaller dollies, heavy floor protection, and the patience those houses need. For the beach condos we reserve the freight elevator, lay lobby runners, and have Trevor stage the truck at a service entrance or coordinated loading slot so we’re not fighting Atlantic Avenue parking.

  • Extra floor and doorway protection for historic bungalows
  • Elevator reservations and lobby runners for beach-condo buildings
  • Truck staged at the service entrance, not blocking the avenue
  • Smaller equipment for tight, no-driveway downtown properties

55-plus communities and downsizing

Out west, Kings Point and the active-adult villages mean gatehouse check-in and restricted move days. We pre-register our truck and crew, work the allowed window, and come ready for downsizers — the same crew loads and unloads, and we can add a donation or storage stop the same day for whatever doesn’t make the cut.

Loading ahead of the afternoon storms

From June through November the Delray afternoons bring daily downpours off the Atlantic. We start at dawn, get the heavy load done before the heat and the rain, and shrink-wrap mattresses and upholstery the moment the radar turns. In the dry snowbird season, November through April, our Delray calendar fills early, so book ahead.

Flat-rate, no meter games

A studio or one-bed opens at $425 flat. Want hourly instead? Two movers and a truck run $165/hr, three movers $225/hr, with the minimum waived. A $115 deposit holds your date and credits to the bill. Get my free moving quote for your Delray move.

We move Delray Beach

Our crews run Delray Beach week in and week out, so the gate codes, the HOA move-in windows, the freight-elevator reservations, and the security checkpoints are second nature long before the truck rolls up. Our quote is a single flat rate, set down in writing — you will not find unexpected charges tucked into the fine print.

02 Why us

Whatever name is painted on the truck is the same name signed on your contract

Book Sawgrass and the truck at your curb is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the bilingual crew wheeling your sofa onto the condo freight elevator draws a Palm Beach County paycheck from us — your move is never sold off. A broker runs the opposite way: they shop your job to whoever underbids that week, then vanish from the picture.

Sawgrass Moving and Relocation
  • The trucks belong to us and so do the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them — we never staff a job with day labor scraped off a listing board
  • Whatever figure we put on paper is the figure you settle — locked in, signed, and exact to the dollar
  • One unchanged crew, from the first box hoisted onto the truck to the last one carried through your new door
  • Florida (FDACS) intrastate moving registration, USDOT/MC on the books for interstate runs, and every single job backed by full insurance and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Lake Worth office and one point of contact, from your first call to the last box set down
What a broker does
  • Hands your move off to whatever outfit happens to undercut the rest that week
  • Allows the price to balloon the day of the move, padded with extras that were never raised beforehand
  • Sends a crew you have not exchanged a single word with up your staircase, your whole household in their hands
  • Keeps it vague about which insurance policy actually covers a TV that hits the floor
  • Stands a call center in your way, so reaching whoever eventually turns up to load is a maze

What Delray Beach movers ask us

Do you move into Kings Point and other 55-plus Delray communities?
Yes — Kings Point and the active-adult villages west of town are a regular stop for us. They have gatehouse check-in and move-in day restrictions, so we pre-register our crew and truck, give the guard our window, and work within the community's allowed hours. We're set up for downsizers, with same-day donation or storage stops if you're shedding furniture.
Can you handle a tight historic bungalow or a beach condo off Atlantic Avenue?
We do both. The historic bungalows near downtown have narrow doors, original floors, and no driveway to speak of, so we bring smaller dollies and extra floor protection. For beach condos near Atlantic Ave we reserve the elevator, protect the lobby, and stage the truck where the building allows instead of clogging the avenue.
Parking near Atlantic Avenue is brutal. How do you manage it?
Carefully and in advance. Trevor, our dispatcher, scouts the building's service entrance or the nearest legal staging spot before move day. For downtown beach condos we coordinate a dock or loading-zone slot with the building so the crew loads straight through instead of circling for parking or risking a ticket.

Heading into — or out of — this part of Palm Beach County?

Our Lake Worth crew already has the gate codes, the HOA move-in windows, and the freight-elevator reservations memorized. Request a free flat-rate estimate in writing and we are on our way.
