01 Overview

Flat-Rate Local Moving Built for How Palm Beach County Actually Moves

Sawgrass Moving and Relocation has run local moves out of Lake Worth since 2013, and the rhythm here is nothing like a generic mainland market. Snowbirds land in November and head north in April. Retirees in Century Village, Valencia and Lucerne Lakes downsize a few rooms at a time. Families trade a terrazzo-floored mid-century ranch off Lake Worth Rd for a CBS tile-roof home out toward Forest Hill Blvd. We built our crews around all of it.

From Boca Raton to Wellington, Palm Beach County moving crew sets the entire move as one written number — the figure on the estimate is the figure on move day.

Two Ways to Price, No Hourly Surprises

You can run the clock or lock a flat number, your call. Two movers and a truck go out at $165 an hour, three movers and a truck at $225 an hour, and we waive the usual one-hour minimum. If you would rather know the total before we lift a box, our flat rate opens at $425 for a studio or one-bedroom and scales cleanly from there. We ask $115 to put the truck on hold for your date, and that sum is credited back on the final invoice. Every load travels under $0.60-per-pound released value as standard, with full-value protection available and cargo coverage up to $1,000,000 per shipment.

Our Trucks, Our Crew, Both Ends

Sawgrass is a licensed Florida (FDACS) moving company with USDOT and MC authority. We are not a broker and we do not hand your job to anyone else. The same uniformed, bilingual crew that wraps your sofa in Lake Worth carries it into your new place across Palm Beach County. Owner Marco Delgado came up through warehouse logistics before starting the company, and that shows in how the truck gets packed.

Heat, Storms and Florida Floors

From June into hurricane season we load at dawn to stay ahead of the heat and the afternoon downpours that hammer the coast. Crews shrink-wrap upholstery against the humidity and keep pads ready in case a storm cell rolls through mid-move. Inside, we lay runners across terrazzo, tile and screened-lanai thresholds, and we handle gated-community check-ins before the truck arrives so guardhouse paperwork never eats your morning.

  • Studios and condos in downtown Lake Worth and the beach blocks
  • Single-story homes in gated 55-plus communities county-wide
  • CBS slab-on-grade houses with two-car garages and lanais
  • Snowbird seasonal condos timed to your arrival or departure

What’s included

  • Two- or three-mover crews dispatched from our Lake Worth yard, same uniformed faces loading and unloading
  • Dawn start windows June through November so the truck is loaded before the afternoon storms roll in off the Atlantic
  • Shrink-wrap and moving pads on every upholstered piece to fight the humidity and sudden Lake Worth Rd downpours
  • Floor runners and corner guards sized for terrazzo, tile, and screened-lanai thresholds
  • Gated-community check-in handled up front for Century Village, Valencia, Lucerne Lakes and the rest
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds, sectionals and lanai furniture with our own tools, no hourly padding

How the price gets set

It starts with a short walkthrough or video survey, and from your real inventory we write one flat Palm Beach County rate — no hourly clock hiding anywhere in it. What that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or the storm rolls through.

02 How we protect your move

Your belongings get handled as carefully as we would handle our own

Pads, shrink film, and floor runners ride on every truck — ready to wrap furniture, guard terrazzo and tile against a sudden afternoon downpour, and cushion the fragile pieces whether the job is a CBS home on slab in a 55-plus community, a Wellington country-club estate, or an oceanfront tower with a freight-elevator reservation.

Quilted pads

Every dresser, table, and headboard is blanketed right where it stands, and that padding goes on well ahead of the moment anything rolls toward the doorway.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and upholstery stays clean — wrapped tight against the humidity and any sudden wet-season downpour on the haul from your door to the truck and back.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners go down, rails get wrapped, and jambs get padded as the very first thing we do — so by the time we drive off, your tile, railings, and trim are exactly as untouched as they were that morning.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tabletops, framed art, and flat screens each earn a crate assembled right there in the room, sized corner to corner for an exact, snug fit.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, dining tables, and sectionals come apart so they ride safely, and once they clear the doorway of your new home our crew reassembles every one.

Straps, dollies & gear

A freight-elevator high-rise, a tight condo corridor, or the heaviest single item you own — each one calls up the matching tie-downs and rigging from our truck, and none of that equipment is ever left behind.

03 Why us

Whatever name is painted on the truck is the same name signed on your contract

Book Sawgrass and the truck at your curb is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the bilingual crew wheeling your sofa onto the condo freight elevator draws a Palm Beach County paycheck from us — your move is never sold off. A broker runs the opposite way: they shop your job to whoever underbids that week, then vanish from the picture.

Sawgrass Moving and Relocation
  • The trucks belong to us and so do the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them — we never staff a job with day labor scraped off a listing board
  • Whatever figure we put on paper is the figure you settle — locked in, signed, and exact to the dollar
  • One unchanged crew, from the first box hoisted onto the truck to the last one carried through your new door
  • Florida (FDACS) intrastate moving registration, USDOT/MC on the books for interstate runs, and every single job backed by full insurance and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Lake Worth office and one point of contact, from your first call to the last box set down
What a broker does
  • Hands your move off to whatever outfit happens to undercut the rest that week
  • Allows the price to balloon the day of the move, padded with extras that were never raised beforehand
  • Sends a crew you have not exchanged a single word with up your staircase, your whole household in their hands
  • Keeps it vague about which insurance policy actually covers a TV that hits the floor
  • Stands a call center in your way, so reaching whoever eventually turns up to load is a maze

Questions we hear about this service

Do you charge by the hour or give a flat number for a Lake Worth move?
Both options are on the table. Two movers and a truck run $165 an hour and three movers and a truck run $225 an hour with the one-hour minimum waived, or we can lock the whole job into a flat rate that opens at $425 for a studio or one-bedroom. Most snowbirds and downsizers prefer the flat number because there are no clock surprises. Booking takes $115 down to claim your date, and that money is applied against the final bill.
Can you move me inside a 55-plus community like Kings Point or Valencia?
Yes, and we work those gated active-adult communities constantly. We handle the guardhouse pass and any clubhouse move rules ahead of time so the truck rolls in clean. Our crews know the speed-bump-heavy interior roads and the tighter single-story driveways, so nothing gets rushed or scuffed.
What happens if a thunderstorm hits in the middle of my move?
We plan around it. From June through hurricane season we start at first light to beat the heat and the daily afternoon cells, and the crew carries enough shrink-wrap and pads to seal a load fast if a downpour blows in. Your terrazzo and tile floors stay protected with runners the whole time.
