Piano and Specialty Moving by a Crew That Does It Right
An upright is heavy. A grand is a different animal, and so is a gun safe, an oversized antique or a piece of art that belongs on Worth Avenue. Sawgrass Moving and Relocation moves all of it with a dedicated specialty crew rather than asking a general team to wing it. Our specialty chief, Luis Ferrer, runs these moves, and the difference is in the gear and the planning.
From Boca Raton to Wellington, Palm Beach County moving crew sets the entire move as one written number — the figure on the estimate is the figure on move day.
Pianos Moved the Way They Should Be
A grand piano never travels on its wheels across a room and into a truck. We remove the legs and lyre, mount the body on a proper piano board, pad and wrap it fully, and move it on a skid with straps rated for the weight. Uprights get boarded and wrapped the same careful way. The carry path is planned first, with floor protection laid across terrazzo and tile, because a scratched floor or a dinged jamb is not part of the deal.
Estates, Safes and the Heavy Stuff
Palm Beach County homes hold a lot of weight beyond pianos. Gun safes, marble tables, oversized antiques, statuary and serious art collections all need the same trained hands and the same specialty boards and straps. We plan each piece individually, protect the route and bring the right equipment so nothing is improvised at the door.
High-Rise Specialty Moves
Moving a grand out of an oceanfront tower adds a layer most movers stumble on. We coordinate the freight-elevator reservation, file the certificate of insurance the HOA demands and work inside the building’s move window, so the piano clears the dock and the elevator without a fight. Sawgrass runs its own trucks and bilingual crews under Florida FDACS registration and USDOT/MC authority; we never broker a specialty piece to an outside outfit.
Clear Add-On Pricing
Specialty handling is quoted as a clean add-on on top of your base move, sized to the piece, the access and any stairs or elevator. You see that number in writing before we start. The base move follows our standard rates of $165 an hour for two movers and a truck or $225 for three, or a flat rate opening at $425, with the $115 date-hold credited to the final bill. Coverage holds at $0.60-per-pound released value standard, full-value available, and up to $1,000,000 in cargo protection per shipment.

How the price gets set
It starts with a short walkthrough or video survey, and from your real inventory we write one flat Palm Beach County rate — no hourly clock hiding anywhere in it. What that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or the storm rolls through.
