01 Overview

Full-Service Packing Done by Our Own Crew

Packing is where most South Florida moves go sideways, and it is where Sawgrass Moving and Relocation earns its keep. We pack whole homes with our own bilingual crew and our own materials, no day labor and no surprise hands. Since 2013 we have packed snowbird condos closing for the summer, retiree downsizes in the 55-plus communities and full estates in Wellington and Boca, and every one gets the same careful boxing.

From Boca Raton to Wellington, Lake Worth, FL movers sets the entire move as one written number — the figure on the estimate is the figure on move day.

Packed for the Climate, Not Just the Move

Humidity is the enemy of a sloppy pack. We use new boxes, clean paper and humidity-rated tape so cartons hold up through wet season, and electronics and upholstery get extra protective wrap against the moisture in the air. Fragile pieces go into real dish packs and wardrobe boxes, and we crate art, mirrors and the occasional Worth Avenue find rather than trusting a blanket. On move day the crew loads at dawn and keeps everything sealed and covered so an afternoon storm never reaches your boxes.

Built Around the Snowbird Calendar

A lot of our packing is seasonal. Snowbirds want a condo fully boxed before they fly north so the unit can sit closed without worry, and they want it done on their schedule before the flight. We coordinate building access, pack the whole place and, when the move follows in spring, the same crew that packed it is the crew that loads it. Everything comes back labeled and room-coded so unpacking at the other end is quick.

Priced Clearly, No Hidden Meter

Packing is quoted on top of your move by home size and how much you want us to handle, anything from a fragile-only pack to the full house, and you get that number in writing before we start. Reserving the date calls for $115, which is then credited toward the final bill. The move itself runs hourly at $165 for two movers and a truck or $225 for three, or as a flat rate opening at $425, and coverage is $0.60-per-pound released value standard with full-value available and up to $1,000,000 in cargo protection per shipment.

  • Whole-home packs for full-service moves

What’s included

  • Whole-home packing by our own crew using new boxes, paper and humidity-rated tape, no day labor
  • Dish packs, wardrobe boxes and custom crating for art, mirrors and Worth Avenue finds
  • Snowbird seasonal packing for condos that sit closed and need everything boxed before you fly north
  • Extra wrap on electronics and upholstery against South Florida humidity and storm-season moisture
  • Labeled, room-coded cartons so the same crew unpacks fast at the other end
  • Optional unpacking and debris haul-away on arrival

How the price gets set

It starts with a short walkthrough or video survey, and from your real inventory we write one flat Palm Beach County rate — no hourly clock hiding anywhere in it. What that quote reads is the whole price, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded or the storm rolls through.

02 How we protect your move

Your belongings get handled as carefully as we would handle our own

Pads, shrink film, and floor runners ride on every truck — ready to wrap furniture, guard terrazzo and tile against a sudden afternoon downpour, and cushion the fragile pieces whether the job is a CBS home on slab in a 55-plus community, a Wellington country-club estate, or an oceanfront tower with a freight-elevator reservation.

Quilted pads

Every dresser, table, and headboard is blanketed right where it stands, and that padding goes on well ahead of the moment anything rolls toward the doorway.

Stretch film

Drawers stay shut and upholstery stays clean — wrapped tight against the humidity and any sudden wet-season downpour on the haul from your door to the truck and back.

Floor & doorway guards

Runners go down, rails get wrapped, and jambs get padded as the very first thing we do — so by the time we drive off, your tile, railings, and trim are exactly as untouched as they were that morning.

Built-to-fit crating

Mirrors, glass tabletops, framed art, and flat screens each earn a crate assembled right there in the room, sized corner to corner for an exact, snug fit.

Break-down & rebuild

Bed frames, dining tables, and sectionals come apart so they ride safely, and once they clear the doorway of your new home our crew reassembles every one.

Straps, dollies & gear

A freight-elevator high-rise, a tight condo corridor, or the heaviest single item you own — each one calls up the matching tie-downs and rigging from our truck, and none of that equipment is ever left behind.

03 Why us

Whatever name is painted on the truck is the same name signed on your contract

Book Sawgrass and the truck at your curb is ours, the paperwork is ours, and the bilingual crew wheeling your sofa onto the condo freight elevator draws a Palm Beach County paycheck from us — your move is never sold off. A broker runs the opposite way: they shop your job to whoever underbids that week, then vanish from the picture.

Sawgrass Moving and Relocation
  • The trucks belong to us and so do the full-time, background-checked movers riding in them — we never staff a job with day labor scraped off a listing board
  • Whatever figure we put on paper is the figure you settle — locked in, signed, and exact to the dollar
  • One unchanged crew, from the first box hoisted onto the truck to the last one carried through your new door
  • Florida (FDACS) intrastate moving registration, USDOT/MC on the books for interstate runs, and every single job backed by full insurance and up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage
  • One Lake Worth office and one point of contact, from your first call to the last box set down
What a broker does
  • Hands your move off to whatever outfit happens to undercut the rest that week
  • Allows the price to balloon the day of the move, padded with extras that were never raised beforehand
  • Sends a crew you have not exchanged a single word with up your staircase, your whole household in their hands
  • Keeps it vague about which insurance policy actually covers a TV that hits the floor
  • Stands a call center in your way, so reaching whoever eventually turns up to load is a maze

Questions we hear about this service

I am a snowbird and want everything packed before I fly back north. Can you pack a condo I am leaving closed?
Yes, that is a common request here. We pack the whole unit so it can sit closed through the off-season, with extra wrap on anything the humidity could touch. We coordinate access with your building and your timeline, and if the move follows in spring, the same crew that packed it loads it.
Will my packed boxes survive the Florida humidity and a summer storm?
We pack for the climate. Tape is humidity-rated, electronics and upholstery get extra protective wrap, and fragile items go in proper dish packs and wardrobe boxes rather than reused grocery cartons. On move day we load at dawn and keep cartons sealed and covered against the afternoon downpours.
How much does full packing add to the move?
Packing is quoted on top of the move based on your home size and how much you want us to handle, from a single fragile-only pack to the entire house. We give you the number in writing before we start, and a $115 booking charge holds the date and is credited toward your final bill. There is no hourly meter running in the background.
